Alzheimer’s and Cannabis

In a paper that was published in the journal Neurobiology of Aging (2008) researchers found a compound in cannabis that affects the same receptors as THC. The compound, WIN-55,212-2, reduced brain inflammation in rats.

What roll inflammation plays in Alzheimer’s is debatable. I don’t know that relieving brain inflammation being a good thing is though.

I don’t recall now where I read it (uh oh?) but I think the following statement humorous; “A stoner might forget where they left their keys but they won’t forget the names of their grandchildren.”

Further studies are warranted. It’s all about finding the funding.
