The bearings are shot in my hot tub pump motor. The isolation valves don’t seal so I’m forced to drain the tub to pull the motor. It takes quite a while. I find myself with some time on my hands.
Here’s a portion of the Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s (the Drug Czar) job description, per Title VII Office of National Drug Control Policy Reauthorization Act of 1998 –
(12) shall ensure that no Federal funds appropriated to the Office of National Drug Control Policy shall be expended for any study or contract relating to the legalization (for a medical use or any other use) of a substance listed in schedule I of section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812) and take such actions as necessary to oppose any attempt to legalize the use of a substance (in any form) that–
- is listed in schedule I of section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812); and
- has not been approved for use for medical purposes by the Food and Drug Administration;
So what that means, basically, is that even though the “Czar” is well aware of the medicinal properties of cannabis he is required, by law, to not provide for any studies or research AND do everything within his power to prevent its legalization.
Lying is a job requirement. You might keep that in mind any time that office offers an opinion or policy. Why the hell are we paying a government official to lie? Oh, wait… never mind.
I wonder if the tub’s empty yet.
